Pointing Station
A wire
pointing station which mounts on an automatic spring making
machine.
The
pointing station consist of a mounting bracket, a high speed spindle and a
tungsten carbide roller guides pointing tool. The pointing tool
machines a chamfer on the end of the wire used to make springs.
This is usually done as the a first operation in the
sequence.
The spindle provides the
motion to the pointing tool. The speed of rotation can be varied to
suit different diameters of wire and different grades of
material.
The
bracket supports the spindle and tool and locates it accurately and
rigidly on the face plate of the CNC spring making
machine.
