Vertical Welding Lathe

This vertical welding lathe is used in the manufacture of the return spring assemblies fitted to remote controlled valves used in the petroleum industry.

The lathe can accommodate springs up to three and a half metres long, half a metre in diameter and with a rod diameter of twenty five millimetres. It can compress the spring a maximum of one metre. The overall height of the lathe is five and a half metres. It weighs two and a quarter tonne.
