Controlled Air/Hydraulic Pumps
These
air/hydraulic power sources are fitted with pneumatic actuators to
control their operation.
The pumps
can be placed In a pneumatic circuit to power hydraulic clamps or
cylinders just like other pneumatic devices. They can be used for
linear or rotary actuators, or for work-holding applications.
Varying the air pressure regulates the holding force.
In the
example above the pumps are controlling the clamping functions and
the mandrel movements of an NC tube bender.
In their
standard form the power sources have a treadle to control the pump
and the release valve.
Portable
Hydraulic Bar Cropper
A portable
power tool to cut the old ladder supports from sewer access shafts
to within 5mm of the wall. The material is 12x50mm mild steel flat
bar which is set into the access shaft walls. The cutting is
necessary to remove the ladders for replacement when they are no
longer safe to use.
Previously
the cutting was done with pneumatic hacksaws, oxy/acetylene and
friction blades are unsuitable because of the explosive
atmosphere.
The
machine is actuated by an ENERPAC hydraulic hollow cylinder powered
by a servo controlled air/hydraulic pump. |
