Portable Hydraulic Bar Cropper

A portable power tool to cut the old ladder supports from sewer access shafts to within 5 mm of the wall. The material is 12 x 50 mm mild steel flat bar which is set into the access shaft walls. The cutting is necessary to remove the ladders for replacement when they are no longer safe to use.

Previously the cutting was done with pneumatic hacksaws; oxy/acetylene and friction blades are unsuitable because of the explosive atmosphere.

The machine is actuated by an ENERPAC hydraulic hollow cylinder powered by a servo controlled air/hydraulic pump.
