Production FOMECORE™ Craft Board Cutter

A machine which cuts FOMECOR craft board in an industrial production environment.

FOMECORE is a composite of styrene foam laminated between two sheets of card. This board is a popular medium for screen printing and is used for point of sale display and advertising material. This demands a clean edged finish.

The nature of the material makes it susceptible to tearing and crushing when cut by any other method than with a sharp blade and straight edge. This is the normal method used in craft shops and graphic arts studios.

The machine, which operates in a vertical plane, used a motorised hollow ground blade to produce the optimum cut finish on multiple sheets, in a factory environment at production rates. The machine is controlled by a FESTO electronic logic controller and sensors.
