Remote Weather Balloon Launcher

A modular remote weather balloon launching windshield frame in stainless steel for easy erection at remote sites. The frame is able to withstand marine environments, cyclonic and storm conditions as well as the explosion of the hydrogen filled balloons. A foot operated door and lock designed for hands free use by observatory staff is fitted. Tooling jigs and fixtures were designed to ensure the interchangeability of the components.

Currently in service at many Australian weather stations. One unit has been sold to the New Zealand Weather Service.
